But, let’s be clear: the Camp Boomerang owners’ statements were patently and unacceptably hateful and transphobic. They reflect a good deal of ignorance and a not-well considered vision and mission for their business. I suspect I know the emotional place they're coming from but statements such as theirs are just unacceptable. I support well-justified, necessary separate queer spaces (even knowing they'll be exclusionary) but Camp Boomerang doesn't seem one of them.
