By this logic, Europeans have "a legitimate historical claim" to all of Africa since, at one time, all humans came from there. Which is a ludicrous argument. There were large, well established Arab Palestinian communities on the land that is now Israel and the Occupied Territories when Israel was established as a state in 1947. That action and the forced relocation of thousands of Arabs in 1948 was genocide. Period. End of sentence. Legitimate historical claims are nice and all but they don't grapple with the reality of the present. And that reality is that Israel is an apartheid state that has routinely committed genocide—forced relocations, mass murder, cultural annihilation, land theft—against Arab populations living on land that Israel now claims as its own. That genocide continues today in the language used by the current Israeli government and the actions of that government's military.
