I don’t understand. If cisgender people shouldn't try to understand or "relate" to transgender people, why do you go to such lengths to explain the transgender experience (using the analogy of chronic pain)?
Politically, do you think it’s wise to discourage ~98% of humanity from understanding or relating to the ~2% of humanity who identify as transgender? How does that help the cause of furthering transgender rights or acceptance?
On the contrary, it would seem really important to help those you need for support (i.e. allies, most of them cisgender) to understand the transgender experience. Understanding is a precursor to empathy, and empathy is often the basis of compassion and mutual support.
Why would you discourage that?
