I hoped it was obvious that I was writing and speaking in an English, specifically American English, context. Yes, there are other languages around the world that are more and less gendered than American English and some of the issues I mentioned would be more or less relevant there.
Finally, I am not “offended” by your or anyone else’s use of pronouns.
