Thank you for writing this and I'm so very sorry you're confronted with this dilemma: advanced training in a valuable field but few employers who value it monetarily.
I'm loathe to provide advice, but here it goes: consider tapping the career offices at your graduate and undergraduate alma maters for advice in translating the skills you've developed in graduate school into a language the corporate and non-profit worlds understand. Then start looking at 'alt-ac' resources online to see how it's possible to work in academia-adjacent jobs that fire your interests AND pay the bills. They're out there, but this is going to be a rough time to find one...
More education might not solve your problems. Move forward with that very carefully and thoughtfully.
