There is literally nothing in my piece about coercing others to use a person’s gender pronouns against their will. NOTHING. The central concern of my piece was the power dynamics of the kinds of contexts in which others’ wishes are elicited and how those contexts can be coercive even though they’re represented as inclusive and welcoming.
