This is nice and all but it doesn't respond to my questions: If trans people can't be known why go to great lengths to explain them? And, is it a wise political strategy to claim unknowability or unintelligibility? In fact, not a single respondent to my comment has addressed that last question. (They're too busy calling me a transphobe.) But a quick survey of every major social justice movement in history will show that education about the marginalized in an attempt to generate empathy and understanding has been key to their acceptance and legal protection. "You can't know me!" might fit on a bumper sticker but it's not a proven political strategy.
